Vegas-Pasco-Vegas....and this one is all PASCO

Flying into Pasco is always fun.  Almost 90% of the time there is an option to deplane from the back of the airplane.  And since we're typically stuck in a seat in the middle of the aircraft, we deplane last and always elect to go out the back door. Because it's more fun. Gotta love small town airports!

(If you're confused as to when we flew to Pasco, you need to read the previous post.  Cause I'm still way behind in posting and the explanation can be found one post back.)

When we arrived, my parents picked us up and took us out to an Indian Restaurant in Kennewick.  It was really good! I think my Dad even liked it, and he was all about trying to order a burger when he first looked at the menu.

 The next day we went on a bike ride down along the Columbia River.  This is something we did at least once every spring/summer when I was growing up.  We'd ride on the old Vantage Highway and always stop along the way to see the names engraved on Autograph Hill. Or to engrave our own names in the hill.

My sister came along with 3 of her 4 kids.  I couldn't believe how good they did! Her son Cole actually rode the entire way up a very steep grade, one which had both Clark and I stop and walk our bikes very early on!

This is Autograph Hill.  As years pass, the hill continues to crumble and fall.  Luckily, we were able to find some of our engravings in the rock!

My brother's name and my name may be the next to go....these engravings are from 2000. Unfortunately I think our childhood engravings from the 90's are totally gone.  

 The day after we took off for Seattle, for the ASU vs. UW football game!  Clark and I realized only a couple weeks before our visit that our time in Pasco coincided with this football game.  We couldn't pass up the opportunity to watch our beloved Sun Devils play, and we decided it would be fun to treat my parents to a game.

We stopped in Mattewa at a Panaderia for some Mexican treats.  Had to fuel up for the game.

Finally parked and ready to walk through the pouring rain to the stadium! 

We left Pasco with plenty of time to spare as we didn't want any unforeseen circumstances to prevent us from attending this game.  So we were a little (2 hours) early....

 We found Sparky wandering around! He must have gotten to the stadium a little early, too....

 The weather was so nasty.  Luckily, the rain stopped just as the game began, but the wind was crazy! Here the marching band is trying so hard to keep the American Flag from blowing away right before the National Anthem.

 

Oh, you know, one of the many times ASU was within 3 yards of a touchdown and just couldn't get the ball in the end zone.  They tried really hard to lose the game, but thank goodness they came out on top!  It was beyond frustrating to watch!

This score finally shut the obnoxious UW fans around us up!! 

We had so much fun and it was awesome to see ASU play again after so many years!

 The next morning we were able to meet up with my older brother for breakfast before heading back to Pasco.

 At a stop on the way back, Clark found this shuttle to sit on and pretend to ride.  Poor Clark, he was denied every opportunity to ride a coin operated machine as a child.  I offered to put some coins in the machine, but he didn't want me to.  I guess after 30 years of not ever getting to ride one, he was content to just be able to sit on one.

And no visit to Pasco is complete without shooting some guns. 

We blew up a few pumpkins with added Tannerite powder for dramatic effect.   It was kind of intense.

And we also ended with a semi-organized tea party.  

 The girls rocked their matching Frozen shirts.

 We tried for some female dominated photos, but the damn point and shoot just couldn't capture anything very well. 

We had so much fun visiting Pasco! Thank you Mom and Dad for your hospitality and for stepping out of your comfort zone and going to a college football game with us! And thank you Katie for showing me a thing or two on the sewing machine! It was soooooo good to see all of you and we look forward to warm visit next summer! Love you all to pieces!
