Homeless gloves

Clark constantly complains about my cold hands and is always telling me I need to wear gloves around. This has been going on for years--perhaps the entirety of our marriage-- and I'm pretty sure I have Reynaud's disease.  Lately I've been toying with the idea of buying some fingerless gloves so that I can keep my hands warm and still retain some functionality of my fingers.  And then I had a brilliant idea.  Why not just cut off the fingertips of an old pair of gloves?

Clark keeps asking me where my shopping cart is.  And then I pair the gloves with my pink robe and I look even more homeless.
Truth be told, I should have done this long ago.  My hands have never been this warm in the winter.  And winter is exactly what we're dealing with here in Philly.  There are no signs that spring has arrived, and even the birds stopped chirping.  Just look at what we woke up to today:

Feeling a little depressed today. No job, cold weather, looking homeless 16+ hours of the day.  Someone, please rescue me!!

Five years of photos

Clark and I really, really like having tangible photos, however we rarely get our photos printed.  So for our anniversary I thought: why not print out photos of us from the last five years (wedding excluded)?  I tried to limit the collection of photos to one photo per month, or 60 photos total.  I ended up printing just under 300.  Overshot the original mark a bit.  Luckily, photo albums do exist to store 300 photos!

It's overwhelmingly us.  Which is the point, but...it's still a little overwhelming. I did my best to throw family pictures in from time to time.  If you come visit, I won't blame you for not wanting to look at it.

Until I determine something better for the cover, I have some cats taking our place.

Some photos from our first year...

First Christmas that we tried to spend with both families...

First wedding anniversary...

Photos from our SLC past...

Australia...

 Asia...

I'm really happy I did this.  Pictures on the computer are no substitute for the real thing. You're welcome, Clark.

The day I ate the best steak ever was the day I became a nurse practitioner

The other day I took the most important test of my life...and passed.  Whew, I am officially a Family Nurse Practitioner! I kid you not, I had no idea my palms could sweat so much.  I swear I was wiping my hands on my jeans after I answered each question.
Since I was still jumpy and anxious after the test, I walked down to Sephora to treat myself to some new makeup, thinking that would calm my spirit and also give Clark a little time to drive downtown an pick me up.  Let's not dwell on the fact that I don't have a job and I have an absurd amount of student loans looming over my head.  Sometimes, a girl's gotta indulge a little--especially after a nerve-wracking life event! Clark is such a good husband that he totally understood. And now I have this totally awesome makeup that makes me feel oh so pretty.

For a celebratory meal, I decided that I wanted king crab legs.  So we drove out to Costco only to find that Costco carried just about every other seafood but crab legs.  Damn.

After much deliberation  we settled for some New York strip steaks that Clark later seared to perfection. Seriously you guys, it was the best steak I've ever eaten.  Camera pictures just don't do it justice. Thank you, Youtube and Gordon Ramsay for helping my husband create the most magical celebratory meal a girl could ever wish for.

And now, the job hunt begins! Or rather, continues... Errr, becomes more serious.

Five Down

Happy five year anniversary to us!!! We're more in love than ever before, OF COURSE. **cue make-out sound effects here** Woke up to this on our most special day of the year...

I must admit that we're not thrilled with this early spring weather.  Dang you, Punxsutawney Phil! Where is the early spring we're all promised?
Unfortunately, I didn't get a figurine whittled out of wood as I had hoped.  But according to Wikipedia, I can cross my fingers and hope for a wooden object next year! And maybe Clark will get a 5 lb bag of sugar.  We'll just have to see.

We've all got our vices

I'm not judging you, Chuck.  But I didn't expect this.
I'm sensing that this may not be the real Chuck Norris, given the incorrect grammar and the fact that I don't think the real Chuck Norris would actually admit to being Ke$ha's number one fan.  Or would he? I've got my suspicions as to where this particular Chuck Norris probably resides...

So I kind of became infatuated with Ke$ha's Die Young song in Malaysia.  However, the video is really confusing. Is she trying to be sexy?  Because let's be honest, Ke$ha doesn't exactly exude sex appeal, and I'm pretty sure she can't dance.  But what do I know. I'm just a woman. A woman who has had a girl crush on Shakira for 10+ years. Now that woman is downright sexy.
