Just Our Luck

So maybe this title is a little more dramatic than necessary. I actually have a funny story to share and I am not surprised in the least that this particular incident happened to both Clark and I. Well Clark and I find it humorous at least.

Preface: Clark and I share a full sized bed. Yes, I know, it is ridiculous and no married couple should ever have to sleep on a full sized bed together. So why are we doing this? Because Clark said I couldn't purchase a new bed until we move out and find a bigger place. I'm content with that decision even though I am not allowed to spread out like a starfish (that's what Clark calls it) on this full sized bed. So when Clark moved in I knew we would have twice as much crap in this tiny apartment and no place to store it so I found some brand new bed risers on craigslist and purchased them for $10. (Made the transaction at the back of a Home Depot parking lot. ) That way we could shove a lot of stuff under the bed. Now the full sized bed is just on a simple metal bed frame and I took the wheels off the frame because once I put the risers on I realized that the bed was sliding around way too much. See pictures below. Anyway, on with the story...

This little incident happened yesterday morning around 6:45 am. I can hardly function at that time in the morning (unless I'm at work) so I am surprised I remember this situation. Every time Clark repositions himself and moves I stir and wake up a little. Well this particular morning Clark turned, I believe from laying on his right side to his left side, and immediately when he turned we both felt the bed give way and sink about 3 inches, accompanied by a super load crunching noise! We both were like "what was that?" and got up and Clark took a look at the bed where it had sunk and said all groggy and still half asleep, "The frame broke through the riser." Somehow our metal bed frame leg had managed to tear its way through a super thick plastic bed riser that is supposed to hold upwards of 500 pounds or so! I was so tired all I said was "lets just worry about it later." and we got back in bed and slept until the alarm went off. So apparently we both weigh enough to break a bed.
Then like 30 minutes later the alarm went off for Clark to get up. He got ready for school and right before he left he came in a work me up because he had "lost" his wallet and keys!
We still haven't fixed the bed problem and have actually changed our sleeping arrangement so that we sleep with our heads at the other end of the bed. The bed is still slightly lopsided but at least when we lay down our legs aren't higher than our heads.

Cole Alan Has Arrived!

Here are a few pictures of Cole Alan Moore. He made it home from the hospital three days after birth, I believe, and the family is doing great! Chase is such a proud older brother, the other day he told me on the phone, and I quote: "I had a boy." I said, "Yes, your mommy had a boy and you have a little brother." Then he said, all matter of fact, "I had a boy."

I also would like to add that I am officially a TOBLER! I visited the social security office the other day and changed my name. Then I changed it at the bank and then at work. Whew....all I have left is the DMV, I think, right??

2 New Babies in One Day! Amongst Other Happenings...

Hello all! We are so thrilled to hear that Violet made her way into the world early on June 1st and is doing very well! My sister, Katie, also had her baby boy, Cole Allen, at 6:30 am on June 1st! I can't believe both of my sisters had their babies on the same day! Cole actually swallowed some meconium and has to stay in the hospital for a few days, so any prayers on behalf of the little guy would be so welcomed! I don't have any pictures at the moment but hopefully soon my family will send me some.

Well, Clark is still trucking along in nursing school. He is constantly busy with schoolwork and is in class or a clinical setting from 8-4 Monday through Friday. I can't wait for him to finish school next May. We are trying to decide how to celebrate his graduation. We are for sure going to do a bit of traveling, we just don't know exactly where we should go. Europe again to finish out tour of the Eastern countries? China and Korea? Peru? We are thinking at this point that if the dollar is still super weak in Europe we will probably go to China and Korea. I have a good friend who lived in China for three months and said it is super cheap....so we will see.

Here is a picture of us enjoying our Mexican refrescos. We got these cokes at Wal Mart in the Mexican food section. They are made with real cane sugar and not just corn syrup. Gritty!

I just got back from a childhood friend's wedding in Nashville, Tenessee. I stayed with a different friend there, Lesley Inglima, and though my stay was short, we were able to catch up and gossip each night away. It was so good to see her as I hadn't seen her since Christmas of 2006.

You can kind of tell in the picture that my hair is pulled into a side ponytail. Well, the wedding was actually earlier this day (this pic was taken at like 10 pm at night) and being a bridesmaid, I was supposed to get my hair done. Well, for a side pony tail and only 20 minutes that the hair dresser spent doing my hair, I was charged $75! I still can't talk about it without getting upset. Not worth the money at all. Especially for something I could have done myself! Robbery!

Well that is all for now. We will try to keep up better with these blogs! Take care and I hope you all have a fabulous rest of the week!
