The 4th

The day mainly consisted of running and watching World Cup matches.  Germany vs. France and then Brazil vs. Columbia.  The Germany and France game wasn't nearly as exciting mainly because no one exchanged soaked sweaty jerseys after the final whistle.

James Rodriguez and David Luiz before the swap:

And after:

Right after this happened I said aloud: Ok, now exchange shorts!
Clark thought that was hilarious. It didn't happen, but it would have been amazing.

Then Clark had to leave for work and I met some friends down on the Ben Franklin Parkway for the Philly 4th of July Jam.

Way too many people everywhere.  At some point there was a "scuffle" in the crowd not too far from where we were sitting on the grass.  Throngs of people started running away and we heard people yelling, "They're shooting, they're shooting!!" So, we started to run away, too.  Nicki Minaj stopped her set briefly and things were brought under control.  Thankfully, there was not a shooting, though I don't think anyone knows exactly what went on.

And here we have The Roots? Or DJ Jazzy Jeff?  Or was it Ed Sheeran by this point?  Hard to say since the stage just appears to be a bright fireball of light....

And finally, around 11:15 pm, we had some fireworks!

Even though Columbia lost, it was a pretty great day.
